Job Summary
Coordinates the activities of the IT department and serves as the technology expert providing onsite and remote technical support to maintain a secure computer network and systems. Provides technical support to end-users on hardware and software issues to facilitate timely resolution. Acts as the liaison between the organization and technology-related vendors and works closely with the IT support vendor to optimize network functionality. Identifies and implements technology-related organizational efficiencies.
Essential Functions
- Maintains network systems, installing new hardware and modifying existing hardware, and related network software and applications.
- Installs and maintains peripheral devices including printers, hubs, routers, and other equipment.
- Conducts periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal network function and minimal downtime.
- Conducts risk assessment, analysis, and provides education and support on mitigating those risks.
- Coordinates schedules to ensure IT coverage 24 / 7.
- Ensures all members of the IT department have the information and access necessary to support the agency.
- Assists with development and execution of company IT policies, strategies and programs.
- Maintains email and intranet services, adding and removing user accounts.
- Collaborates with IT support vendor to review and analyze hardware and software needs; recommends changes to the Associate Administrator.
- Responds to calls, emails, chats and other communications from end-users regarding software programming, connectivity, printing and other technology-related concerns.
- Provides timely identification, investigation, and resolution of user issues with computer software and hardware.
- Collaborates with vendors to maintain and repair equipment, including copiers, printers, phone systems, and security-related vendors.
- Works with the Human Resources Manager and Administrative Assistant to set up new workstations and other equipment to meet onsite and remote needs of managers and staff members.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of all equipment and orders IT equipment and supplies as needed to support operational needs.
- Maintains current knowledge of technological innovations and trends and communicates new technologies that may create additional organizational efficiencies.
- Supports continuity of operations by scheduling network maintenance, upgrades and other technological enhancements that may cause major workflow disruptions outside of normal business hours.
- Effectively educates and trains end-users in existing and new technologies; educates on-call administrators to enable them to troubleshoot technology issues in the absence of an IT technician.
- Communicates with the IT vendor to support operations in coordination with the Associate Administrator.
- Attends appropriate educational programs; participates in mandatory in-service education.
- Demonstrates compliance with the dress-code policy, appearing well groomed, wearing an ID badge while on duty and maintaining a professional appearance.
- Adheres to employment policies in accordance with the Employee Handbook and participates in all required in-service education programs and meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
