Job Description
DUTIES INCLUDE : \n
- Performs preventive maintenance work on machinery.
\n
Performs set-up and repair on new and existing machinery.\n
Assists Mechanics during large overhauls and day-to-day work.\n
Continuous learning of advanced safety, machining, welding, rigging, and repair techniques.\n
Assists in facilities maintenance as required.\n
Communicates with maintenance personnel, engineers and vendors.\n
Perform basic support type tasks of various trades that can be completed safely.\n \n
Maintain a clean and safe work area.\n
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
\n
Must be capable of trouble shooting and problem-solving during machine and or tool repair process.\n
Must be capable of working independently with little supervision.\n
Notify Supervisor of issues that affect cost and timing.\n
Must be capable of measuring and machining parts to print tolerances.\n
Must be capable of expediting machine / tool repairs within tool room or with vendors.\n
Must be capable of adjusting schedules to react to changes in resources (personnel / equipment).\n
Notify Supervisor and / or Lead Person when necessary to replenish departmental supplies.\n
Perform other miscellaneous related duties as assigned.\n \n
Tools and equipment used :
\n
Computers and printers, micrometer, calipers, scales, blueprints, comparator.\n
Ordinary standard gages and ordinary special gages.\n
All department machinery, (including but not limited to) : welding, brazing, mills, lathes, grinding machines, drills, heat treating equipment, etc., reports, printouts, and forms.\n
Various types of material handling equipment, including scales, hoist, power hand trucks, hand trucks, hand carts, etc.,\n \n
Various hand tools, various containers including high boys, pans, bulk boxes, tubs, etc.\n
EDUCATION
Associates degree, Trade Certification, or 1+ year performing maintenance in an industrial environment preferred.
