Defense Acquisition Specialist, Lead

The Opportunity :

As an Acquisition Management Professional, you know that both sides of the acquisition and contracts lifecycle are pivotal to your clients' missions. We're looking for someone like you to lead a team of experienced professionals and be a liaison to the government. Bring your passion to execute and improve the defense acquisition processes that are needed to defend our nation.

As a Defense Acquisition Spe cia list at Booz Allen, you'll work closely with our defense clients in support of the warfighter, aiding in the acquisition of all they need for optimal end strength and ensuring that their mission is our mission. This is an opportunity to impact our country's defense acquisition and contracts process.

On our team, you'll analyze, assess, and advise on defense acquisition program documentation, including acquisition strategy, category management, acquisition program baseline, and acquisition decision memorandums. You will apply advanced and extensive technical expertise using full industry knowledge to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. You will work without considerable direction and mentor team members.

You Have : \n

  • 10+ years of experience with the Defense Acquisition System as a project manager, action officer, or policy or program analyst

\n

  • 5+ years of experience in an acquisition program office, program executive office, or DoD acquisition office
  • \n

  • Experience drafting defense acquisition documents such as Milestone Decision Review Briefs, Acquisition Decision Memorandums ( ADMs ) , Acquisition Strategies, and Acquisition Program Baselines ( APBs )
  • \n

  • Experience implementing acquisition processes in alignment with the DoD Issuance ( DoDI ) 5000.74, Acquisition of Services, including Services Requirements Review Boards ( SRRBs ) and Independent Management Reviews ( IMRs )
  • \n

  • Knowledge of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework ( AAF ) , ACAT, BCAT, SCAT thresholds, and alternative acquisition processes, and defense acquisition policies , including DoDI 5000 series
  • \n

  • Knowledge of program management, including DoD scheduling and risk management practices
  • \n

  • Ability to logically adjudicate competing interests and inputs and provide concise rationale and recommendations
  • \n

  • Ability to use Micro sof t Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • \n

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability / Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • \n

  • Bachelor's degree
  • \n \n

    Nice If You Have : \n

  • 2+ years of experience leading DoD category management
  • \n

  • Experience drafting or reviewing DoD memoranda or DoD issuances such as DoD directives, instructions, or manuals
  • \n

  • Knowledge of the Military Health System ( MHS ) and military medical acquisition
  • \n

  • Knowledge of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System ( JCIDS ) process and asso cia ted documentation
  • \n

  • Knowledge of the Defense Planning, Programming, Budget ing, and Execution ( PPBE ) process
  • \n

  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation ( FAR ) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement ( DFARS )
  • \n

  • Ability to self-start and multitask in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • \n

  • Master's degree
  • \n

  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act ( DAWIA ) and Defense Acquisition University ( DAU ) Program Management Certifications
  • \n \n

    Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
