Payroll Analyst
Position Summary :
LHH is seeking an experienced and analytical Payroll Analyst to join a growing Total Rewards and HR Operations team. This role is essential to ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations across a multi-entity organization.
The ideal candidate will bring UKG expertise, a strong understanding of payroll and tax regulations, and the ability to use data and technology to streamline processes, resolve issues, and deliver insights. This role partners closely with HR, Finance, and Accounting to enhance the employee experience and continuously improve payroll accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls
Audit employee time, earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings
Handle multi-state and multi-entity payrolls, including tax registrations and filings
Research and resolve payroll and tax discrepancies, including agency correspondence
Maintain internal controls and support audit activities
Participate in payroll system updates and enhancements
Develop and maintain SOPs for payroll processes
Collaborate with HRIS, Finance, and Accounting to reconcile payroll data
Generate and analyze payroll data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Lead or assist with payroll process improvement and automation initiatives
Support payroll activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and integrations
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay and deductions
Perform quarterly and annual tax reconciliations and year-end reporting
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications : Required :
4–6 years of payroll experience in a complex, multi-entity, multi-state environment
High school diploma or GED
Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance, garnishments, and wage / hour laws
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
Preferred :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field
CPP or FPC certification
Experience with UKG Pro payroll system
Experience supporting payroll during system implementations or acquisitions
Work Environment & Physical Demands :
Standard office environment
Primarily seated work with occasional lifting (up to 10 lbs)
Minimal exposure to airborne particles; low noise level
