Responsibilities Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center
Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than years! This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, The George Washington University Hospital, and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This clinical integration will establish a robust system of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community.
This full-service hospital will include beds (with the ability to expand to beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for physician offices, clinics, a community space, a -car garage and a helipad for emergency transports.
We are seeking a Director of Dietary/Food Services
Responsible for the overall development, management, and performance of the Dietary Department within and in accordance with all policies and philosophies of Cedar Hill Hospital, The Joint Commission, and any other accrediting body, which involves planning, coordinating, and administering all departmental programs. Responsible for food production of patient, cafeteria, catering services, and nutrition care programs in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Performs all work in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Cedar Hill Hospital.

Qualifications Education Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Food, Nutrition or Dietetics required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
- 5 years' supervisory/management experience required
- 5 years' experience in food or culinary services in Healthcare required
Skills:
- Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others
- Culinary production experience and background in safety and sanitation compliance
- Excellent planning and organization skills
- Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications as well as accounting software, timekeeping software and payroll applications.
- Ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to prioritize and exhibit flexibility to changing priorities.
- Quantitative/mathematical ability. Understands volumes, weights, and measures.
- Able to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
- Ability to work with confidential employee, client, and GW Hospital information
License / Certification:
- ServSafe certification and DC Department of Health Food Handler’s license required or must obtain within 3 months of date of hire
