About the Role : We are seeking a motivated and experienced attorney to join our plaintiff‑side medical malpractice practice. The ideal candidate will handle complex negligence matters involving healthcare providers, surgery errors, misdiagnosis, hospital system liability, and related serious‑injury claims. This role offers a combination of case management, legal strategy development, motion practice, depositions, expert coordination, and trial preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of medical malpractice matters from intake through resolution (litigation, mediation, trial).
- Conduct thorough investigations of healthcare‑provider liability, review medical records, consult medical experts, develop causation / damages strategy.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, engage in motion practice and appeals as needed.
- Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, defendants, experts, treating physicians, hospital administrators.
- Coordinate with medical experts (physicians, nurses, hospital systems) and manage expert discovery and reports.
- Work with the trial team to prepare exhibits, demonstratives, witness prep, and assist at trial when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with clients, keep them informed of case status, and work collaboratively with the team to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Develop business‑generation contributions : participate in client development, speak / write about medical‑malpractice topics, and help build the practice.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor and admitted to practice in Florida (or eligible).Significant litigation experience (ideally 4‑8 years or more) handling serious personal‑injury or medical‑malpractice cases.Demonstrated experience with healthcare liability, hospital system defendants, physician negligence, misdiagnosis or surgical errors preferred.Strong trial or extensive motion / summary‑judgment experience is a plus.Excellent analytical, writing, advocacy, and client‑communication skills.Ability to juggle multiple files, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and as part of a team.Commitment to the plaintiff‑side ethos : representing injured clients, seeking accountability of negligent providers, and pursuing positive client outcomes.Willingness to travel locally for hearings, depositions, site visits; courtroom presence expected.What We Offer
