Job Summary
The Burial Vault Production Technician is responsible for the fabrication, finishing, and quality control of concrete burial vaults within a manufacturing facility. This position involves hands-on production work including mixing concrete, operating molds, reinforcing vaults, and ensuring all vaults meet company and industry standards. The technician plays a key role in delivering high-quality products that honor and support funeral services.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare forms and molds for burial vault production, including placement of liners.
Mix, pour, and finish concrete in accordance with product specifications.
Demold and inspect vaults after curing, checking for structural integrity and cosmetic appearance.
Apply finishes (painting, sealing, nameplates, decorative accents) as required.
Conduct routine quality control checks and report any defects or inconsistencies.
Operate forklifts, hoists, and other equipment to move materials and finished products.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Perform routine maintenance on tools, forms, and equipment.
Follow safety and environmental protocols at all times.
Assist with loading / unloading vaults for delivery when needed.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in concrete, construction, or manufacturing preferred.
Ability to operate forklifts and power tools (certifications a plus).
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow exact procedures.
Capable of lifting 75+ pounds and performing physical labor in a production environment.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work both independently and in a team.
Working Conditions :
Indoor and outdoor plant environment with exposure to dust, heat, cold, and noise.
Regular lifting, standing, bending, and repetitive motion.
Occasional overtime or shift work depending on production demands.
