Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for an experienced, Pipe & Valve Materials Engineer, for a 12-month contract assignment supporting ongoing projects at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, UT. This onsite role offers a W2 hourly base rate up to $90.00 / hour with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization / demobilization.

Position Summary :
The Pipe & Valve Engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and reviewing plant design and piping work requirements. The candidate’s technical input will ensure configuration compliance and procurement requirements are met, and complex issues are resolved. The position will develop the piping line class sheets as well as maintain the pipe, fittings, valves, and misc. piping hardware products and specifications related to the procurement activities.
Major Responsibilities
- Preparation and execution of material requisitions for bulk pipe, valves and supports, and other piping components.
- Preparation of pipe and piping component related calculations, minimum pipe wall thickness calculations, and material evaluations to ASME B31.1, B31.1 and other codes & standards.
- Prepare, coordinate, and maintain piping and valve technical specifications, piping material class sheets / specifications and / or material requisitions, bid evaluations and award recommendations.
- Perform detailed supplier bid technical evaluations and supplier document reviews. Reviews Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) for piping material applicability.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain function (Buyers, Expeditors, etc.) as well as various suppliers regarding technical requirements of purchase orders.
- Disposition of supplier deviation requests and Request for Information (RFI's).
- Disposition of Nonconformance Reports (NCR's) and Field Change Documents (FCD's) generated by Construction.
