This role is crucial in providing dental care to patients in various long-term care facilities. The Mobile Dental Care Assistant will assist patients and dental professionals effectively, while maintaining clinical records and ensuring the cleanliness of medical equipment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the dentist with patient care in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Perform pretesting duties and manage patient transportation as needed.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and charts using electronic medical records.
- Thoroughly clean and care for medical equipment and ensure service areas are tidy.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare providers to enhance patient experience.
- Stay organized to manage multiple tasks while providing exceptional customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations, including HIPAA and PHI guidelines, while upholding the highest confidentiality standards.
- Document patient inquiries and interactions accurately in the EMR system.
- Travel to various facilities is required, up to 100% of the time.
- Conduct equipment inspections and report any issues to the appropriate resources.
- Assist in educating patients on effective oral hygiene practices.
- Maintain dental supplies inventory, anticipating needs and placing orders as necessary.
- Ensure proper functionality of dental radiography equipment and assist with exposure and processing of digital radiographs.
- Perform vehicle maintenance and inspections as needed.
- React positively to changes and undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
High School diploma or GED required.Experience as a Medical / Dental Assistant is preferred.Must have reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and car insurance.Completion of a two-step Tuberculosis (TB) skin test is mandatory.Hepatitis B and Flu vaccinations are preferred.State radiation certificate / license is required.Strong computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology are a must.Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow directions attentively.Physical Requirements :
This position requires full bodily mobility, including manual dexterity and coordination. The role involves standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds) as necessary, including the ability to transport patients in a wheelchair. Exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids is possible.
