Marwen Emerging Teaching Artist (META)

Position Summary : The META is a temporary, part‑time role that supports Marwen’s year‑round visual arts program for Chicago youth grades 6‑12. The role provides studio support, mentors teaching artists, and leads workshops under staff supervision.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide studio support for two courses, assisting lead teaching artists during Spring and Summer terms.
• Advocate for youth and document students’ artwork in class.
• Support studio reset and maintenance during class sessions.
• Participate in professional development and peer learning, including group skill building, mentorship feedback, and training on creative youth development.
• Lead Marwen workshops for 6th‑12th grade students under staff supervision.
• Engage in post‑term reflection.

Ideal Candidate

Compensation

Hourly pay : $23.10 per hour.

Hours per Term

Spring 2026 Term : 61 hours; Summer 2026 Term : 54 hours.
