Clearance Level

Personnel are required to possess a Final Secret, Interim Top Secret, or Final Top Secret clearance. However, all employees must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance and sign a contingency agreement of employment with Acuity.

Primary Function

The position functions as the Electrical Engineer, providing OBO a full range of critical engineering and construction quality assurance and management and technical oversight of the OBO Projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develops working knowledge of all technical requirements of project.
  • Provides Quality Assurance for ongoing construction project.
  • Reviews contractor submittals.
  • Experience in assessing and responding to Requests for Information (RFI).
  • Evaluates proposed submittal substitutions with engineering implications; makes recommendations to the Project Director.
  • Coordinates the development of Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) for modifications and change orders.
  • Experience in reviewing and evaluating design calculations and data from an engineering perspective.
  • Prepares Monthly Progress Reports and attends meetings summarizing project status, with emphasis on engineering.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Project Director.

Job Requirements

An engineering, architecture, or construction management degree from an accredited university in the United States and a minimum of seven (7) year’s experience required on construction projects of similar scope and dollar value to the project supported by this Task Order.

Design office experience shall not count toward an employee’s experience. A Professional Engineering License (PE) is acceptable in lieu of a degree.

Overseas experience is preferred.

  • Professional Engineering registration is preferred.
  • Must possess a Final Secret, Interim Top Secret (ITS), or Final Top Secret (TS) clearance issued by Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) at the time of proposal.

At the time of deployment to overseas OBO construction sites for performance on this contract, employees shall possess at minimum Final Secret clearance.

However, all employees must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

  • Knowledge of International Codes required.
  • Knowledge of Construction Safety regulations, i.e. EM 385-1-1, OSHA, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • U.S. Embassy construction program experience highly desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
  • Strong initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work 60-hours / week, six days / week, 10 hours / day
  • Must have the ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, bend, balance and twist for extended periods.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 60 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be able to safely maneuver throughout the job site, i.e., climb and walk on scaffolding, climb ladders, walk up or down steep grades.
