Staff Data Scientist, Lending Externalization
Overview
Intuit’s Global Business Solutions Group (GBSG) is committed to building tools and services that significantly enhance the ability of small and medium-sized businesses to manage cash flow. The QuickBooks Capital team is developing innovative solutions that empower customers to access the right loan offerings with greater ease. The Lending Data Science team seeks an experienced Data Scientist to lead data science and analytics for partnerships and externalization efforts focused on connecting small and medium businesses with suitable loans. The role involves analyzing internal and lender data to uncover actionable insights, providing strategic recommendations, and helping scale partnerships rapidly. Prior experience with partnerships-focused analytics is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Shaping Strategy Through Deep Analytical Insights, including conceptualizing opportunities, formulating hypotheses, defining goals and key metrics, and delivering actionable recommendations.
- Driving strategic insights to shape growth for QuickBooks Capital and positively impact millions of small and medium-sized businesses.
- Developing predictive models, causal inference studies, and A / B testing to uncover customer insights and drive product, marketing, and lending innovations.
- Creating durable customer segmentation strategies to enhance targeting, positioning, and user experience.
- Collaborating with cross-functional partners in Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, and Design to inform and guide product strategy.
- Translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
6-10 years of experience in data science and analyticsProven ability to form hypotheses and identify business opportunities based on customer behavior, industry trends, and market conditionsExperience building scalable, reusable analytics tools and avoiding redundant effortsSuccess in designing and interpreting complex experiments beyond traditional A / B testingStrong expertise in causal inference, predictive modeling, customer segmentation, and experimentation designExcellent communication and stakeholder influence skills across business and technical teamsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentBS or MS in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Econometrics, or related fieldTechnical Skills
Advanced SQL proficiency and hands-on experience with visualization tools such as TableauStrong analytical and modeling skills using Python or RExperience applying statistical and machine learning techniques to solve go-to-market and product problemsFamiliarity with Generative AI and other emerging technologiesExperience in analytics engineering or business intelligence rolesExperience addressing growth-related challenges at fintech companies focused on lending or partnerships serving consumers or SMBsCompensation and Benefits
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay-for-performance rewards approach. This position is eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, as per applicable plans and programs. Pay is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. The expected base pay range includes : Bay Area California : $186,500 - $252,000; Southern California : $179,000 - $242,000.
