Work Experience (Basic) : 2 years of acute care RN experience

Does RN need to know how to read tele strips? Yes

Top diagnosis / procedures : Respiratory / Renal

Common equipment used : Vent, CRRT NxStage, Echo, Aritic Sun, EV1000, PCA pumps

Does RN need to be able to titrate medication? Yes

Common medications given : Propofol, Precedex, Fentanyl, Cardizem, Digoxin, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Amiodarone, Norephinephrine, Vasopressin, Epinephrine, Phenylephrine

Airway / Bipap / Airvo / Vent management

Vaso / cardiac / sedation drips-titration per MAR

EKG interpretation

Familiar with and care of Arterial line / Central line / Femoral lines

We do TTM with the Artic Sun / CRRT with Next Stage / IABP / ECHO for PE

IV insertion

Blood draws

A-line management

CVP

IABP

Sheath removal

Cardioversion / defibrillation

Epicardial pacer management

Procedural sedation

CPAP / BiPAP

Ventilators

Trach Care

Rapid Infuser

Epidural / PCA pump

Feeding tubes

Continuous bladder irrigation

Schedule Information

Shift : nights

Weekend : every other

Unit Specific Information

Patient Population :

Medical ICU - Heavy respiratory patients / Renal patients / Cardiac patient

Clinical Resource Nurse per shift- for both units – without patients
