As a Travel Nurse RN specializing in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), your role involves providing critical care to patients with respiratory and renal conditions. You will utilize advanced medical equipment and medications while working night shifts and participating in a rotational weekend schedule. The team prioritizes a supportive environment for both seasoned and new nurses, promoting professional growth and collaboration.

  • Weekend : every other
  • Work Experience (Basic) : 2 years of acute care RN experience
  • Work Experience (Desired) : None
  • Education (Required) : Diploma or Associate

  • Does RN need to know how to read tele strips? Yes
  • Top diagnosis / procedures : Respiratory / Renal
  • Common equipment used : Vent, CRRT NxStage, Echo, Aritic Sun, EV1000, PCA pumps
  • Does RN need to be able to titrate medication? Yes
  • Common medications given : Propofol, Precedex, Fentanyl, Cardizem, Digoxin, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Amiodarone, Norephinephrine, Vasopressin, Epinephrine, Phenylephrine

  • Airway / Bipap / Airvo / Vent management
  • Vaso / cardiac / sedation drips-titration per MAR
  • EKG interpretation
  • Familiar with and care of Arterial line / Central line / Femoral lines
  • We do TTM with the Artic Sun / CRRT with Next Stage / IABP / ECHO for PE
  • IV insertion
  • Blood draws
  • A-line management
  • CVP
  • IABP
  • Sheath removal
  • Cardioversion / defibrillation
  • Epicardial pacer management
  • Procedural sedation
  • CPAP / BiPAP
  • Ventilators
  • Trach Care
  • Rapid Infuser
  • Epidural / PCA pump
  • Feeding tubes
  • Continuous bladder irrigation

    • Schedule Information

  • Shift : nights
  • Weekend : every other

  • Medical ICU - Heavy respiratory patients / Renal patients / Cardiac patient
  • Clinical Resource Nurse per shift- for both units – without patients
