Payroll & Accounting Specialist

Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
- Post payroll-related entries to the General Ledger, including payroll, benefits, and taxes.
- Prepare and post monthly payroll accruals
- Reconcile payroll accounts monthly, ensuring alignment between the payroll system and the General Ledger.
- Reconcile all payroll liability accounts every month.
- Reconcile payroll benefits to vendor invoices.
- Calculate monthly and quarterly employee bonuses.
- Perform monthly allocations to distribute shared payroll, tax, benefits, retirement, outside labor and debt expenses across departments.
- Collaborate with the payroll implementation team to ensure accurate data integration into the data warehouse.
- Process ACH, Positive Pay, Wire, and stop payment banking requests; share relevant bank correspondence with the accounting team.
- Update debt schedules
- Update 842 leases schedules, including capital and equipment leases
- Support the Senior Accountant with reporting tasks and ad hoc projects.
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date documentation of all payroll and accounting processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power Query and DAX is a plus.Strong process mapping and process improvement capabilities.Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability in execution.Demonstrated initiative and critical thinking; ability to analyze trends, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues independently.High attention to detail and accuracy within a complex accounting environmentAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.Education & Experience :
Degree in Accounting or Finance, or 4 years of accounting experience35 years of progressive, hands-on experience in financial and / or cost accounting.Familiarity with General Ledger, payroll processing, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.Additional Information :
Must be authorized to work in the United States.Hybrid work option available : eligible to work from home up to 2 days per week after 6 months, pending manager approval.Granger Medical Clinic offers competitive wages and excellent benefits. The salary range listed is the base salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to work experience, education, and / or skill level.
