POSITION TITLE : Clinical Therapist - PRN

LOCATION : Louisville, KY

STATUS : Part Time, Hourly, Exempt

PROGRAM : Addiction Recovery Services

REPORTS TO : Director of Clinical Services

JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS :

The Clinical Therapist supports people in recovery from substance use. You’ll work with each resident to create a service plan that helps them manage and improve their lives. You’ll provide regular therapy services — including individual, group, and family sessions — as well as case management and referrals. You’ll also help with daily program operations and respond to crises when needed. Some on-call and after-hours work is required.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FOR THIS ROLE :

This position requires at least a Master’s degree in social work or a related field, along with one of the following certifications : CSW, MFT, or LCPA. Preference is given to candidates with a clinical license, such as LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC. It’s also preferred that candidates have completed a practicum focused on behavioral health and substance use.

Applicants must have experience providing clinical services, including communication, casework, and billing with Kentucky Medicaid. The therapist will serve women, children, and families who may be dealing with behavioral health or substance use concerns.

The role calls for knowledge and skills in the following areas :

Mental illness and addiction treatment

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

12-step facilitation

Using community resources

Modeling healthy behavior

Compassion and respect for people living with behavioral health challenges, Hepatitis C, and HIV / AIDS are essential. You must be able to learn and follow all agency, staff, and program policies. You should also understand current treatment methods and be able to train and supervise social work interns.

Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field

Certification (CSW, MFT, LCPA) required

Preference for licensed clinicians (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC)

Preferred experience in behavioral health or substance use practicum

Experience with clinical services, documentation, and Medicaid billing

Knowledge of mental illness, addiction, CBT, and 12-step programs

Familiar with community resources and working as a role model

Comfortable working with clients affected by Hepatitis C and HIV / AIDS

Must show respect and compassion for all clients

Ability to supervise interns and follow agency guidelines

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Provide assessments, therapy, and referrals for clients

Offer daily individual and group therapy

Join weekly clinical supervision

Keep up with billing and Medicaid rules

Manage your caseload and client needs

Create and review service plans

Work with community partners and referral sources

Document services clearly and on time

Help clients with crisis counseling

Advise other staff on treatment issues

Collect and report service data

Ensure resident compliance with program rules

Complete intakes and discharge planning

Attend case conferences and team meetings

Help with daily operations and holiday coverage

Assist with projects like Quality Assurance and COA standards

Maintain accurate therapy records

Keep CPR and First Aid certifications up to date

Support Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) as assigned

Perform other duties as needed
