Are you looking for a meaningful on-campus job that builds your skills while supporting students? Join the Student Life Pantry team at Western Campus! As a student employee in The Pantry, you’ll help create a welcoming, respectful environment for Pantry guests while gaining hands-on experience in customer service, inventory management, and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes:
As part of The Pantry team, you will:
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients with respect, empathy, and professionalism in a food pantry setting.
- Gain experience managing inventory by receiving donations, restocking shelves, and implementing basic inventory control practices.
- Develop office and administrative skills through tasks such as data entry, filing, and scheduling.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in generating reports related to Pantry usage and engagement initiatives.
- Build your teamwork and problem-solving skills by working collaboratively with other student employees and staff.
- Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester;
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress;
- Adhere to College's confidentiality policy;
- Successfully pass background/drug screening;
- Answer phone and take messages;
- Clerical duties such as filing, data entry, copying and faxing;
- Open and sort mail;
- Strong interpersonal communication skills;
- Willingness to learn new technology;
- Assist with special projects;
- Other duties as assigned.
