Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I or high-volume Level II trauma experience, AZ or compact RN license, and strong ortho, spine, and neuro skills.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital Operating Room within a Level I trauma and teaching facilityOccupational focus on high-volume ortho, trauma, spine, and craniotomy cases with minimal pediatricsStaffing ratio is 1 : 1Shifts are 3x12 mid shifts from 10 : 30 to 23 : 00Weekend shifts required, usually every third weekendOn-call required : up to 8 weekdays and up to 9 weekend call shifts per 13-week contract, with 30-minute recall responseNo floating requiredCerner EMR system is used and EMR experience is requiredScrubs are provided for OR staffResponsible for circulating and scrubbing duties in high-acuity trauma cases, including ortho, spine, and neuroNo blocked scheduling is guaranteed, though effort will be made to accommodate requestsFree parking provided on siteRTO requires manager approval beyond five days; no RTO in the first week due to orientationMust work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment coincidesFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyLocals are acceptedEmployees must wait 12 months after previous staff employment before applying as travel nursesReturn travelers are ineligible if they cancelled a previous NAH contract within 10 days of start dateOrientation modules are completed during the first week and tracked via LMSRequirements
Active, unrestricted Arizona RN license or valid compact license requiredBLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum of 2 years recent Operating Room RN experienceExperience required in general, ortho, spine, trauma, and neuro (specifically craniotomies)Previous Level I trauma experience required, but recent Level II trauma experience at a comparable facility may be consideredMust provide two professional references, one from most recent employer within 1 yearBenefits
