POSITION SUMMARY :
Under the protocol / supervision of a Psychiatrist and Program Manager, this advanced professional position provides treatment services intended to assist pediatric patients with mental illness by prescribing psychotropic medication to stabilize their condition.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Masters of Psychiatric Nursing with a current Florida APRN license holds a national advanced practice certification as a psychiatric mental health advanced practice nurse and has 2 years of post-master clinical experience under the supervision of a psychiatrist.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
- Responsible for monitoring and altering drug therapies according to established protocol and consistent with the practice setting.
- Perform Diagnostic evaluation of consumer needs.
- Coordinates monitors and supervises the delivery of clinical treatment services provided by clinicians and support services staff.
- Completes required patient-related documentation for clinical services and maintains up-to-date clinical records.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with other internal departments and programs, as well as community agencies.
- Continues professional development through in-service education, workshops, conferences, and self-study necessary to maintain current knowledge applicable to the position.
- Collaborates with treatment team members for service delivery and aftercare planning.

Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, fingering, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to hear, ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone. May be required to complete standing presentations involving speaking and listening to the audience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
General office, health care psychiatric inpatient setting. Most work is completed while seated at the desk using standard office equipment. Fast-paced, team approach. Multi-tasking requires above-average time management skills. Team approach.
