Property Disposal Specialist
Serves as a Property Disposal Specialist performing duties in the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) portion of the Reutilization Program as it pertains to the command. Adheres to the governing regulations as promulgated by the Secretary of Defense and monitored under the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). Develops responses to inquiries received regarding DLA Disposition Services FMS procedures, eligibility and property availability following the guidelines provided in DSCA 5104.38M, Security Assistance Management Manual. Knowledge of Property Disposal Processes; has a solid understanding of property reutilization and disposal processes, especially within the context of Foreign Military Sales (FMS). This position may receive, validate and input customer orders / change requests, monitor customer orders after they have been created, and process order cancellations.

Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
Additional Information The incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Defense Security Cooperation Agency requirements of this certification program. This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain DoD SCW certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action. Incumbent is required to maintain 20 hours of Security Cooperation professional development continuous learning every two-year period to maintain good standing in the DoD Security Cooperation Workforce Certification Program.
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing. Applicants tentatively selected for employment in testing designated positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the date of the drug test. Employees in drug testing designated positions are subject to random drug testing.
