Its sister company, Crafted Structures manages the on-site components of our homes.We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support our team. The ideal candidate will provide operational support to our Project Management team, enhancing our ability to deliver high-quality homes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth within the modular prefab industry and exposure to various aspects of construction.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Engineer (PE) supports the successful delivery of modular and site-built residential projects from preconstruction through closeout. Working under the direction of the Project Manager (PM), the PE helps coordinate design, estimating, procurement, and field / shop activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
This is a hands-on, growth-oriented role ideal for a technically minded individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys problem-solving, teamwork, and continuous learning within the construction process.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning & Execution :
Assist the PM in the planning, budgeting, scheduling, and overall management of luxury residential home construction projects.
Track project progress, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily field reports.
Prepare quantity takeoffs, solicit quotes, and compare subcontractor proposals.
Issue purchase orders, coordinate deliveries, and confirm material quantities.
Maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, meeting minutes, and logs in Buildertrend
Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality.
Design & Technical Assistance :
Review design drawings and coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants during design development.
Help identify constructability issues, design conflicts, and value-engineering opportunities.
Support the permit submittal process by preparing documentation packages and responding to reviewer comments.
Budgeting & Cost Control :
Support PM with budget tracking, cost-to-complete forecasts, and variance reporting.
Review subcontractor pay applications and verify progress against site reports.
Implement cost control strategies to minimize overruns while maintaining high-quality standards.
Monitor expenses and assist in preparing regular financial reports to management.
Client Communication :
Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any questions or concerns throughout the construction process.
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure their vision and expectations are met or exceeded.
Quality Assurance & Compliance :
Participate in site walks and assist in field issue resolution.
Track punch lists, warranty items, and inspection closeouts.
Coordinate with the PM and Superintendent to ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and quality standards.
Ensure that all construction activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Conduct quality control inspections at key project milestones to guarantee excellence in craftsmanship and design integrity.
Problem Solving & Risk Management :
Proactively identify potential project risks and develop contingency plans.
Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction to keep the project on track and ensure client satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Skills & Qualifications
1-3 Years of Industry-related experience
Bachelors or Engineering program (strongly-preferred) or industry-related field
Minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Buildertrend, Procore, MS Project).
