Primary Functions
This is supervisory and responsible work in traffic and parking enforcement.
Work involves responsibility for supervision of Parking Enforcement Officers and participation in parking enforcement, traffic control, and the enforcement of traffic laws pertaining to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Work is performed with considerable independence according to ordinances, established policies and specific orders. Work is assigned, reviewed and supervised by an administrative supervisor.
Note that the Parking Enforcement Field Supervisor may be required to attend occasional meetings after typical working hours.
Typical Duties And Responsibilities
Education, Qualifications & Experience
Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field, and 3 to 5 years' experience in law enforcement, parking enforcement, or public administration, including at least 1 year at a supervisory level, or any combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities and skills :

This is a " 'General Fund ," tested position.
This position is included in a collective bargaining agreement with Local 3144, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

General Funded hires into this class are not covered by Social Security and will not pay Social Security taxes. They instead participate in the City Pension; the employee contribution rate is 10% of pay.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
Selection Plan
Applications will be reviewed by the Department of Human Resources. Applicants must demonstrate within their submission that they meet the minimum requirements as listed within the job description; failure to do so may result in disqualification. Applicants meeting minimum requirements may be invited to participate in a Civil Service exam process at a later date.
