Physical Requirements : Standing or walking with objects up to 25lbs; Sitting at computer workstation for extended periods; Repetitive motion. May be exposed to loud noises, fumes, confined spaces, and / or temperature / weather extremes while reviewing job-site(s). Shift : 8 : 00am - 5 : 00pm (Monday - Friday). Hours of work will vary dependent upon situational factors and crisis management requiring evening, weekend, and / or holiday response.
Job Summary : Reporting to the Associate Director for Campus Facilities Maintenance & Operations, this position :
- Leads in planning and implementing effective and efficient maintenance of University buildings and facilities within assigned zone
- Ensures optimal operation of building mechanical and electrical systems
- Repairs and replaces building components
- Applies preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance practices, energy efficiency, and a continual building assessment program
- Employs cost-effective and cost-efficient operations to optimize facilities resources to add value and reduce overall costs
The Manager :
Leads and directs the zone maintenance team in the development, planning, and implementation of goals and objectives in cooperation with zone customers / coordinators to support the strategic goals of the UniversityCoordinates zone activities with those of other departments or zonesEngages in the authorization and coordination of planned and emergency outagesEstablishes short (one to three year) and long (four to six year) range zone maintenance and operations plansMaintains an awareness of new and / or replacement projects within the zone, both new construction and renovationReviews drawings / plans to ensure compliance with University Standards for Planning, Design, and ConstructionCoordinates and manages complex projects from concept to successful implementationExecutes projects in a timely and fiscally responsible manner with utmost customer satisfaction, on-time and within budget and prepares and maintains accountability for the fiscal year zone maintenance and operations budget / expendituresIn addition, the Facilities Maintenance Manager :
