Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities : Transportation Scheduler / Driver

• Schedules and confirms patient appointments. Reviews patient information prior to appointment in order to determine patient needs. Verifies with nursing staff if there are questions.
• Implements customer-service standards; resolves problems; completes and determines patient transportation system improvements.
• Informs family members of patient appointments upon request.
• Stays with patient at appointments to provide assistance upon request.
• Posts appointments daily for staff and patients at least one day prior to appointment. Is available to answer questions regarding the appointment.
• Enters orders for appointment and transportation and retrieves / sends diagnostic labs needed for appointment.
• Determines best route to and from appointments prior to the departing time, along with equipment required to load and unload patient.
• Keeps equipment operating by establishing and enforcing operating and preventive maintenance rules; arranging for repairs, oil changes, etc.
• Provides and troubleshoots medical equipment needed for a patient transport, such as O2, wheelchairs, gurneys, IVs.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Must possess a valid Colorado license and maintain a clean driving record.
