Position Summary :

The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting quality inspections, assisting in internal and external ISO audits, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities. This role involves assisting in the development, setup, and maintenance of CMM & VCMM programs and other metrology equipment. The Quality Technician works closely with Quality / Mfg. Engineering and Operations to ensure components meet customer specifications and assists in developing, documenting, and maintaining related processes and tasks.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Metrology Equipment :
  • Assist in programming, setup, and conducting CMM validations (Type 1 GRR).
  • Work with various precision testing equipment, including Vision Systems (VCMM) and gages.
  • Perform basic maintenance of inspection equipment.
  • Fixture and Gage Development :
  • Assist in developing fixture concepts.
  • Participate in gage and fixture development.
  • Inspection Work Instructions :
  • Assist in creating inspection work instructions for automated inspection equipment (CMM / VCMM).
  • Statistical Analysis :
  • Assist in Gage R&R analysis using Minitab; QC-Calc experience is a plus.
  • Analyze data and provide feedback during the qualification process.
  • Interpret SPC results.
  • Training :
  • Train employees in the proper use of automated inspection equipment and documentation.
  • Train Quality and Production Associates to run CMM / VCMM programs.
  • Provides guidance on hand tool measurement methods.
  • Production Support :
  • Support and troubleshoot programs in production.
  • Implement and analyze artifact checks for various precision testing equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement :
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Other Duties :
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications :

  • Advanced knowledge of inspection equipment and maintenance
  • Advanced level blueprint reading skills
  • Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Fluent in Calypso (or equivalent) programming with knowledge of PCM, curve and free form programming.
  • Technical writing skills
  • Having the ability to create new work and training instructions
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Word / Excel), Minitab, QC Calc, and ERP systems
  • Good problem solving with attention to detail, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to perform visual inspections using microscopes
  • Ability to quickly shift priorities to support changes in workload
  • Organizing / managing multiple requirements and deadlines
  • Ability to provide input and participate in department meetings
  • Ability to cross train when required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 10 years of experience in quality assurance working with precision tooling
  • 2-year Technical College / Machine Trades / Quality Training is preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
  • Experience in an ISO 13485 : 2016 certified system.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, fixturing, and tooling.
  • Experience using an ERP system.
  • Experience in 2D and 3D CAD (Solidworks)
  • Health, Safety & Environment responsibilities and skills :

  • Participate in the development and promotion of the HSE culture
  • Be exemplary in terms of health, safety and the environment, in particular by :
  • o Respecting and ensuring respect for the instructions and rules established in the field of health, safety and the environment (in particular the LISI golden rules)

    o Immediately correcting, whenever possible, or reporting to his or her superiors and / or the HSE department, any malfunction or risky situation in the fields of health, safety and environmental protection

    o Implementing preventive actions to reduce the environmental footprint and control health and safety risks

  • Participate, upon request, in analyses (of risks, incidents) and HSE working groups related to his / her professional scope
  • Be familiar with the main health and safety risks and the main environmental impacts relating to the scope of his / her work
  • Be familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives
  • To be able to make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact
  • Physical Demands

  • Must be able to sit, grasp items and perform keyboarding frequently.
  • Must be able to reach, stretch and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally.

  • Compensation and Benefits Overview

    Starting Pay Range for this position is $33 - $39 / Hour

    Minimum pay rates offered will comply with applicable county or city regulations if they exceed the listed range. Actual pay rates are determined based on various factors, including but not limited to, local labor market conditions, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language proficiency, and other job-specific qualifications.
