Accounts Receivable Specialist (Medical)

SUMMARY : Contribute to the company success by completing follow ups and collection for multi-specialty pediatric patient services. We're looking for a dedicated individual to deliver outstanding customer service to our guarantors by addressing inquiries related to medical bills and ensuring a positive experience. In this role, you will work closely with our medical billing and coding teams, playing a key part in our revenue cycle management process. Your focus will be on providing accurate, timely responses to guarantor statements ensuring a positive experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Medical insurance A / R follow up, work on denials and appeal claims with insurance carriers.
• Identify medical coding and billing errors from EOB's and work with appropriate team to correct them.
• Monitor insurance claims and contact insurance companies to ensure timely reimbursement.
• Greet callers in a professional manner.
• Respond to emails promptly and professionally.
• Provide detailed information regarding medical bills.
• Review claims within Athena and rebill claims as necessary.
• Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
• Verify healthcare insurance information.
• Process payments and establish payment plans.
• Contribute to team efforts by achieving department goals and metrics.
• Review and manage self-pay AR worklist within Athena.
• Address and resolve customer complaints, concerns, and inquiries in a timely manner.
• Build effective relationships with customers, educate them about Kidz Medical Services, health insurance plans, and benefits such as deductibles, co-insurance, and copays.
• Maintain patient care confidentiality.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management
• QUALIFICATIONS :
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Proficiency in understanding and following written and verbal instructions.
• Bilingual.
• Acute attention to detail and adaptability to changing priorities.
