The main responsibility of the Advisor and Academic Services Specialist is to advise prospective and current students. Primary duties include, but are not limited to : new student recruitment; maximizing session enrollment, supporting applicants, advising students throughout their program until graduation, and communicating with staff and faculty to assist with student success.
Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, education administration, or a related field
At least two years of relevant experience in education administration, business administration or a related setting
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working in a higher education setting as a student advisor or in a position with knowledge of university systems
Experience working with specific subsets of students such as non-traditional, military, international, or an equivalent
Additional Information :
This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
