Experience : Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in both general and critical care preferred.

License : Current State License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner

Certifications : Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Must-Have : BLS, ACLS, NRP

Description :

A Respiratory Care Practitioner performs designated Respiratory Care and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures.

This includes the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system.

Respiratory care services include therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing performed using medical gases and equipment, environmental control systems, humidification, and aerosols.

The practitioner is responsible for the administration of medications to the cardiopulmonary system.

Ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems, is also part of the responsibilities.

Bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises are performed as necessary.

Patient education and cardiopulmonary resuscitation are key components of the role.

Maintenance of natural and artificial airways is essential.

These procedures are performed in both critical care and non-critical care areas for patients of all ages.

The practitioner is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
