The Information Technology Department within Facilities and Business Operations is seeking to hire an IT Manager, Endpoint Engineering Services. This role is responsible for leading and supervising a team of Enterprise Infrastructure System Engineers and System Administrators while developing strategies and roadmaps for operating systems and application support. The manager oversees the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of tools that manage Linux, Apple, and Windows operating systems, as well as application support platforms. In collaboration with the Support Zone, Information Security Office (ISO), Office of Instructional Resources (OIR), and Microsoft Infrastructure teams, this position ensures the delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure technology solutions that align with the university's Minimum IT Standards strategy.
Responsibilities :
- Serve as the product and development manager for enterprise software management systems and application management tools.
- Lead and support a team of System Engineers and System Administrators to ensure efficient software deployment, upgrades, and patch management across the organization.
- Collaborate with executives and process owners to establish a clear vision for enterprise software management systems and operating system lifecycle standards.
- Oversee governance, manage the request backlog, and drive continuous improvement for operating system and application support tools.
- Plan and manage the operation of enterprise Software Systems Management platforms and related cloud-based services.
- Ensure all deployment solutions and third-party application support align with UCF policies and IT industry best practices.
- Monitor support requests and incidents using IT Service Management (ITSM) tools to ensure timely and effective resolutions.
- Lead the team to consistently achieve a 90% or higher satisfaction rate in service delivery for requests and incidents.
- Manage team performance through regular feedback, progress documentation, and formal employee evaluations.
- Coach and mentor staff to enhance effectiveness, and develop professional growth plans for both the team and self.
- Design and oversee student apprenticeship, senior project, and internship programs to foster hands-on learning and career development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6) .
Preferred Qualifications :
3+ years of supervisory / management experience leading technical teams in higher education or a large, complex organization.5+ years of experience managing enterprise infrastructure, operating systems, or software systems management platforms.Proven ability to coach and develop staff, including student apprenticeships, internships, or project-based learning programs.Experience with Windows, Linux, and Apple operating systems and their lifecycle management.Demonstrated ability to manage software deployment, patch management, and application support processes.Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.Experience with enterprise software management tools, cloud-based platforms, and IT Service Management (ITSM) systems.Familiarity with IT governance, policy alignment, and continuous improvement methodologies.Industry certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft, AWS, or other relevant credentials.Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.Special Instructions to the Applicants :
The anticipated salary range for this position is $104,664 to $130,830. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
