Rondo Therapeutics is a privately held biotechnology company committed to advancing the field of immuno-oncology with a focus on treating solid tumors that fail to respond to current therapies.

Position summary

We are seeking an independent and motivated Research Associate with a passion for driving innovative research projects that have the potential to make a meaningful difference in the lives of cancer patients.

Key responsibilities and learning opportunities

• Mammalian cell culture and purification of clinical candidate molecules to generate research material for our immuno-oncology programs.
• Characterize proteins by SEC HPLC, SDS-PAGE, UV-Vis and Uncle Tm / Tagg.
• Analyze protein binding kinetics and set-up stability assays.
• Lead laboratory operations such as inventory management, instrument maintenance and purchasing.
• Execute SOPs and improve upon or develop new SOPs as needed to support team goals.
• Analyze experiments, record data in electronic lab notebook and present your results to internal teams.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Life Sciences related field such as protein chemistry, cell biology or genetics and 1+ years of hands-on research experience in industry or academia.
• Good sterile technique and hands-on experience in cell culture.
• Theoretical knowledge of chromatography techniques, such as : Protein A and IMAC affinity, IEX and HIC.
• Ability to follow SOPs, pick up new technical skills quickly and maintain a detailed laboratory notebook.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently and work independently.
• Clear and effective communication and the ability to build open and collaborative relationships are essential.
• A positive attitude and a strong attention to detail are required.

Bonus qualifications

• Experience working with discovery and / or development of therapeutic antibodies.
• Experience using Äkta FPLC and HPLC instruments.
• Experience on mammalian cell culture.

This is a full-time position based in Hayward, CA. Compensation and title are dependent on relevant experience. The annual base pay range for this role is between $66,560 - $93,600.
