Summary of position :

The School Counselor is responsible for organizing and administering school counseling services for BCIU Alternative Education Programs with the primary intent of assisting every student solve his / her problems while also promoting growth of the individual in self-direction.

Job Responsibilities (see attached job description for additional details) :

• Counsel students on an individual basis at the elementary, middle school, and / or high school levels when referrals are made from administrators, teachers, parents, and / or community agencies.
• Counsel students on an individual basis at the assigned school levels in terms of academic, social, emotional, and vocational development.
• Conduct group counseling sessions as the need arises in the areas of personal, social, emotional, educational, and career development.

Schedule :

Part-Time Elementary School Counselor, Grades 3-5, Up to 20 students on caseload

Experience in trauma informed practices, community and family supports, attendence plan and procedures, and group lessons prefered.
