We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Resident Care Coordinator to oversee the administration of medications and ensure the highest standards of care for our residents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical documentation and be familiar with regulatory compliance, including HIPAA standards. This role is essential in providing safe medication management within our assisted living / adult living facility
Responsibilities
Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Conduct regular assessments of residents' vital signs and health status to ensure optimal care.
Educate staff and residents on medication management and proper administration techniques, including tube feeding when necessary.
Ensure that all medication storage and handling practices meet safety standards.
Provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their unique needs are met effectively.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in medication management.
Requirements
Proven experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments.
Strong knowledge of medical documentation practices and familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Ability to assess vital signs accurately and respond appropriately to changes in residents' conditions.
Experience with tube feeding procedures is a plus.
Compassionate approach towards working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
Relevant certifications or licenses as required by state regulations for medication administration.
