Program Manager -STEM Enrichment (Portland Metro and Surrounding Regions)

Journey to STEAM is a small, rapidly growing, innovative company based in Portland and expanding across the Pacific Northwest. We design and deliver hands-on STEM programs that help K–5 students build creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills. Our curriculum includes LEGO engineering, coding, and robotics, but we go beyond those tools to cultivate collaboration, curiosity, and innovation.

We partner directly with elementary schools, school districts, and Parks & Recreation departments to provide after-school programs, camps, and workshops that are deeply engaging and educational. Our team is mission-driven, collaborative, and built for growth.

We are seeking a Program Manager to lead and grow our operations in the Portland Metro area, including Vancouver, Washington. This is a dynamic region with more than 50 established school partnerships that have been developed over the past several years. The right person will know how to maximize and deepen these relationships, while also driving expansion into Salem by the end of Year 1, and into Eugene, Bend, and other emerging Oregon markets in Year 2 .

This is not a maintenance role. It is a growth and leadership position for someone who thrives in fast-moving, high-accountability environments. You will oversee programs, manage instructors, nurture partnerships, and generate new opportunities that move the region toward its next phase of growth.

Although the Portland region is well established, we are still a young, experimental, and innovative team. We are constantly building and refining systems, piloting new curricula, and pivoting quickly when something isn’t working. The ideal person will be energized by that pace and creativity, not overwhelmed by it.

What you’ll do :

• Strengthen and grow partnerships with existing schools and community organizations across the Portland Metro and Vancouver area
• Identify and close new partnership opportunities within the region and in expansion markets such as Salem, Eugene, and Bend
• Oversee all program operations, including scheduling, logistics, enrollment, and quality control
• Hire, train, and coach part-time instructors who deliver our after-school and camp programs
• Provide classroom observations, feedback, and coaching to ensure instructional excellence
• Teach programs personally as needed to maintain quality or model delivery (teaching is part of the role and not separately compensated)
• Manage key metrics for enrollment, retention, revenue, and customer satisfaction
• Lead regional planning and forecasting in collaboration with the leadership team
• Build and improve systems for communication, curriculum rollout, and operations as the company grows
