Overview
At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, focusing on the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. The team powers the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team of experts and engineers, you will support the development and execution of new designs, process improvements, and testing of turbomachinery components for various rocket engines and spaceflight systems. A key goal is to identify and drive design improvements to lower the cost of access to space. You will develop tools and a strategic plan to guide the design team in executing new main turbopump design improvements. This role is primarily a data analytics role, but will also require project planning and management to align with the larger turbomachinery team. The ideal candidate will develop cost models, schedules, and manufacturing investigations to find additional improvement opportunities, and will support managing new main turbopump design improvements and supporting new components through design, procurement, qualification, testing, and flight.
Responsibilities
This role primarily focuses on managing the implementation of new configuration changes and incremental improvements for the most critical hardware on the engine. You will be responsible for developing new tools and metrics to track design improvements from concept to production through closure. You will earn the trust of design, manufacturing, and business program teams by presenting data-backed recommendations and strategic decision planning to drive improvements. You will be a critical leader in cross-functional work to connect production, test, engine system, and program goals. We are looking for someone to apply technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. You will report directly to a Turbomachinery Manager within the Engines business unit.

Compensation Range for WA applicants is $140,959.00-$197,342.25. Other site ranges may differ.
