The Director of Finance – Americas Region is a key leadership role, responsible for driving the financial and operational success of the Americas region while ensuring alignment with the Ebiquity Group’s global strategic priorities. This role combines strategic influence, operational excellence, and team leadership, making it a critical contributor to the region’s growth and profitability.
This role reports to the Group Finance Director (based in London) and has a dotted line to the Managing Director, Americas. The Director of Finance will lead and inspire a small, remote team to deliver financial governance, business partnership, and decision support, while fostering collaboration across regions to share best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership
- Act as a strategic business partner to the Managing Director – Americas, supporting decision-making through financial insights and analysis.
- Provide commercial support on pricing strategies, RFP responses, contract negotiations, and deal structuring to optimize profitability and competitive positioning.
- Monitor and influence business performance, focusing on revenue quality, cost savings, and improved operational outcomes.
Financial Management and Reporting
Oversee comprehensive cash flow forecasting and working capital management, including regular reporting and proactive liquidity management.Lead the financial budgeting and forecasting processes for the region, ensuring reliability and tracking outcomes against targets.Ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, in line with IFRS accounting standards.Improve the quality of management information, providing timely, forward-looking data to support decision-making.Governance and Controls
Implement formal governance frameworks, including authority limits, capital approval processes, and robust internal controls.Standardize financial processes and controls across the region to improve efficiency and ensure audit readiness. Provide leadership for the team managing the US 401(k) plan, Canadian RRSP, and all payroll processes and procedures for both regions. This includes ensuring all around compliances, driving process improvements, and supporting the team in delivering accurate and timely payroll and benefits administration.Collaborate with Group Finance to maintain consistency in governance, compliance, and reporting standards across regions.Strategic Collaboration
Contribute to a long-term financial planning process to ensure alignment with the Group’s growth and profitability objectives.Collaborate with systems and technology teams to optimize the use of tools including Power BI, Salesforce, and ERP systems for financial reporting and decision-making.Foster cross-regional knowledge sharing and collaboration to establish best practices and standardized approaches.Leadership and Team Development
Inspire and motivate the finance team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture focused on continuous improvement.Rebuild and develop the team by establishing clear role definitions, supporting professional growth, and encouraging shared best practices.Act as a role model for integrity, accountability, and a solutions-focused mindset.Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Americas Managing Director, Group Finance, auditors, and external advisers, to ensure alignment and support for the region’s financial strategy.Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Technical Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have 10-12 years of relevant work experience.Qualified CPA required with a strong working knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.Experience as a divisional FD or Group FC, ideally within a larger listed company.Background in professional, marketing, or other B2B services sectors, with a strong digital / online emphasis and familiarity with revenue pipeline management preferred.Strong understanding of US and Canada specific regulatory and compliance requirements, including taxation.Proven expertise in cash flow management and working capital optimization, with the ability to establish robust forecasting processes.Experience in cost management and margin improvement, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing cost control frameworks.Familiarity with financial systems such as ERP, financial reporting, and CRM tools, and experience collaborating on system optimization projects.Commercial Acumen
Strong commercial orientation, with experience supporting business development through pricing strategy, RFP analysis, and deal structuring.Demonstrated ability to provide real-time financial and commercial support to senior management during client negotiations and competitive bidding processes.Skilled in financial modelling and analysis to support strategic decision-making.Leadership and Collaboration Skills
Experience of motivating finance teams through periods of change, with the ability to foster collaboration and alignment.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, clients, and external advisers.Proven ability to work across regions, encouraging knowledge sharing and developing consistent approaches to finance challenges.A hands-on, engaged leadership style, focused on deliverables and team development.What you will bring to the role
