Job Description : Summary :
Administers roentgen rays and radioactive substances to patients. Operates X-Ray Equipment, prepares patient's room, equipment, supplies and medications. Provides patient services using imaging modalities.
The radiologic technologist correlates and integrates radiologic aspects of care for all patients age ranging from neonate to geriatrics. Follows prescribed techniques in administering general and specific x-rays. (adjust equipment; determines proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time distance; arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain position of patients; adjust lead shields; and selects proper film). Operates mobile x-ray equipment when requested. The care provided to each patient is specific to the patient's particular physical, age specific and psychosocial needs. The patient populations served by this position includes neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
The CT Tech performs a variety of duties in preparing patients for CT imaging studies on patients from neonates to geriatrics. Operates CT scanner and computer to produce images of specific areas to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Deals directly with Radiologist with regard to CT scan protocol and scan sequence. Gives patient instruction of procedure method. Administers oral and injects IV contrast for organ enhancement, under the direction of Radiologist. The care provided to each patient is specific to the patient's particular physical, age specific and psychosocial needs. The patient populations served by this position includes neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
