Responsibilities Position is in a mixed adult ICU (MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU) within a Level II Trauma Center Patient population includes complex ICU cases : surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma Diagnoses include ARDS, MI, CVA / TIA, COVID, s / p cardiac cath, post-surgical, and multiple system trauma Patient ratios are acuity-dependent : RN 1 : 1, 1 : 2, occasionally 1 : 3 12-hour day shifts, 48 hours per week, every other weekend rotation Must be able to work a 48-hour workweek Utilizes Epic for EMR documentation, experience required May float to other adult floors including Medsurg / Tele if overstaffed, with max 1 : 4 ratio Not common to float, but confirmation of comfort with floating may be discussed No on-call responsibilities Responsibilities include delivering critical care to a diverse, high-acuity ICU population Team includes CNAs, charge RNs, mobility aides, phlebotomy, IV / VAT team, resource nurses, 24 / 7 RT, and intensivists Orientation includes hospital orientation plus two ICU shifts (1x12hr, 1x8hr) Scrub color is navy Free parking available No time off approved during holidays or the first 3 weeks of August (Sturgis Bike Rally) Accepted time off is up to 7 days, but contract must be extended to complete 13 weeks No local candidates accepted; 100 mile radius rule applies First-time travelers will not be considered Requirements Active SD or compact RN license Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (excluding travel experience) strongly preferred; at least 1.5 years ICU and significant RN experience outside ICU considered Must have completed at least one travel assignment prior to consideration Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required (TNCC can be obtained prior to start if not already held) Experience with Epic EMR required Experience with IV medications, vasopressors, sedation, paralytics, hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, and telemetry required Comfortable providing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity ICU with a heavy trauma population Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT is strongly preferred Must live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility to qualify as a traveler Permanent staff must wait one year before returning as travelers Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-630095.
