Director of Nutrition Services : Registered Dietitian (RD)

Career 1 Source is actively seeking a highly motivated Registered Dietitian to join an innovative healthcare program in McPherson, Kansas.

As the Director of Nutrition Services, this position will coordinate center meal services for two facilities, ensuring kitchen standards are met according to current Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) guidelines.

This leadership role carries supervisory responsibilities, involves monitoring an annual budget, and includes conducting periodic mock kitchen inspections to ensure compliance.

What you will be doing :

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments, reassessments, and actively engage in care plan meetings for healthcare patients / participants.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team, establish individualized nutrition goals, and ensure continuity in care.
• Stay updated on nutrition advances, monitor participant changes, and provide counseling and education.
• Supervise culinary staff, manage budgets, oversee kitchen operations, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Conduct training for staff, act as a liaison with meal services, and select menus.
• Maintain excellence in documentation, completing assessments within deadlines and within the scope of authority.

A successful candidate for this Director of Nutrition Services position will possess the following :

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with major studies in food and nutrition or dietetics.
• Registered Dietitian.
• Clinical experience in medical nutritional therapy, especially for common chronic diseases seen in the geriatric population preferred.
• Able to instruct others in the correct use of standard kitchen equipment and utensils and food handling safety.
• Personable, professional interactions skills with others.
• Experience and success in leading cross-functional teams across an organization.
