Overview
Operational Risk Management is looking for a dynamic professional who works well in a collegial environment to join our IB Americas Operational Risk Management Portfolio Team. In this role you will become immersed in Deutsche Bank's IB Business and Deutsche Bank's Operational Risk Management, dealing with fast moving and interesting businesses. As an Assistant Vice President (AVP), you will operate as a representative of Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and help the Firm to improve its risk management capabilities.

What You'll Do
Reporting to the Director of the US IB ORM Portfolio, the Assistant Vice President will work with the Director and team members to ensure that the Investment Bank business partners continue to utilize the ORM Framework to assess Operational RisksDevelop an understanding of US IB's lines of business in order to provide a deep understanding of their operational risks (ORM)Represent the team and CRO at Risk Fora to actively engage in risk governance and prepare quality materialsFacilitate and coordinate with First Line of Defence (1LOD) partners the Risk and Control Assessment process and other deliverablesFacilitate the event and Issue Management processes including Lessons Learned Reviews, Read-Across Reviews and Self-Identified issues / remediationWork as part of the regional and global Team and interface with Risk Type Heads within and external to Operational Risk Management (ORM)Skills You'll Need
University degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics preferredA critical thinker with strong active listening skills with the ability to ask questions when necessaryAn interest in financial markets and risk managementStrong oral and written skills should be able to distil topics into understandable summaries with clear conclusions and explanations of rationale. Including report writing. Be able to draft high quality reportsPresentation skills candidates should be confident in presenting the outcomes of their work, often to senior managementSkills That Will Help You Excel
Communication skills must be able to communicate ideas and information clearly and conciselyThe ability to develop strong working relationships with business areas to facilitate successful risk management within the 3 lines of defense modelThe ability to work collaboratively and with senior stakeholders within a high pressure dynamic environmentTime management the successful candidate will often need to deal with multiple priorities and should therefore be highly organized and be able to multi-taskStrong Fixed Income product knowledge. Knowledge of RMBS markets is an advantageExpectations

The salary range for this position in New York City is $100,000 to $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
