Job description

The Director of Operations at Clark Street Hospitality Group is responsible for overseeing, managing, and leading the daily operations of the business. The main objective for the Director of Operations is to ensure that all locations and departments run smoothly, effectively and profitably. Our locations include an artisan bakery, 4 fast casual bakery cafés, a full-service American diner and a Hollywood hotel bar with a current total of nearly 150 employees. The role requires strategic planning, efficient management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for quality product and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and oversee all operational activities including sales goals, labor and cost management, purchasing, culinary, inventory management, customer service, and bottom line.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and strategies to improve performance and consistency, enhance productivity, minimize waste, maximize sales per labor hour, and increase margins.
  • Manage and lead a team of 8 department heads on a weekly basis to ensure each one is meeting key performance indicators.
  • Monitor the quality of products and services, ensuring they meet our standards and the expectations of our customers.
  • Address any issues or complaints, providing solutions to improve the customer experience.
  • Ensure all locations comply with all systems, protocols, regulations and laws.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years' experience in a multi-unit managerial role, within the food service, hospitality or baking industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, or similar field.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
  • Strong understanding of business financials and budgeting.
  • Ability to strategically plan and execute ideas effectively.
  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and high levels of initiative.
