Counseling Specialist IV Coordinator of Outreach Services.

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating CAPS Outreach Services and CAPS Student Ambassador Program. To provide advanced professional counseling skills in the fields of counseling or social work, Responsible for utilizing specialized skills to counsel students and other clients with complex personal, educational, vocational or related problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides individual and group counseling. Formulates and diagnosis individual problems and provide treatments. Assist clients with complex behavioral, emotional, personal and social concerns.
  • Serves as Counselor on Duty (COD) providing urgent assessments and intervention for students with complex academic, development and bio-psycho social distress.
  • Responsible for coordinating the CAPS Student Ambassador Program, which includes interviewing, onboarding, training and development of student ambassadors in the TCP system.
  • Coordinate requests from campus units for workshops and events. Coordinate staffing for outreach events and activities.
  • Develops and facilitates a variety of outreach activities including groups, workshops and campus screening sessions.
  • Coordinates the marketing of Counseling Services workshops and events. Maintain current marketing or outreach activities on the counseling center website, department social media accounts and university event calendar

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, clinical or counseling Psychology with Three (3) years of experience in a special counseling setting or the equivalent experience.
  • Licensed Mental Health Provider in the State of Texas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a college mental health environment with Two (2) years of outreach services experience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite. Presentation and organizational skills.
