Job description

The Club has been a Birmingham institution for more than 70 years, with its breathtaking view of the city, unique architecture, and one-of-a kind restaurants and service. Our goal is excellence through uncompromising service to our members in a caring and respectful manner. Our team provides high level of service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere to our members with three full-service restaurants, bar and terrace, along with a high volume of event activity. Sous Chef Qualifications *Minimum of three years’ experience in high volume kitchen preferred. Any combination of education training or experience, Culinary, or Apprenticeship preferred *Extensive understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment *Able to manage time wisely and prioritize assignments to meet time restrictions of event REQUIRED *Able to manage your time as well as staff's time *Familiar with inventory count *Excellent communication skills *Ability to work in fast paced high stress environment *Enforcing the standards and sanitation of ServSafe *Able to multitask and complete culinary tasks simultaneously *Must be a self-driven cook/chef who is looking to grow their career *Able to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays REQUIRED If you want to work in a great, family-friendly work environment with the best view in Birmingham, apply with us. All considered Sous Chef candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check Sous Chef Responsibilities: Assist in culinary and recipe development process, and execution of plated and buffet functions Manage kitchen staff of 12 to 15 cooks Responsible of delegation of tasks in the kitchen with follow up and enforcement of staff accountability Responsible for training and cross training staff Responsible for staff placement for functions Manage par lists and participate in ordering process Requirements: 3 years culinary management experience 5 years’ experience in high volume kitchen Culinary degree preferred Knowledge of multiple cuisine Sous Chef competitive salary based on experience and great benefit packages Benefits offered to full time employees only: Waiting period applies Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Sick time Vision insurance Company provided meals Employment Type: Full Time Bonus/Commission: No
