General Description :

The Healthcare Lab Manager for Allied Health will play a crucial role in supporting faculty and students within our Healthcare Programs college wide.

This role will manage and maintain multiple labs for multiple classes, to support FastForward / G3 programs and initiatives.

Programs include License Practical Nursing, LPN, Certified Medical Assisting (CCMA), Massage Therapy, Nurse Aide Preparation (CNA), Medication Aide (RMA), Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).

The Lab Manager will be an integral part of the Workforce Allied Healthcare Team, ensuring smooth operations and facilitating effective learning.

Duties & Tasks :

• Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for classes in accordance with curriculum requirements.
• Design and implement laboratory safety handbooks for faculty and staff using OSHA standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare faculty to ensure the availability and functionality of equipment needed for instructional purposes.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the laboratory environment.
• Assist faculty with hands-on training, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements, as necessary.
• Manage inventory levels of supplies and equipment, ordering new materials as needed.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements relevant to healthcare laboratory operations.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students, promoting teamwork and collaboration.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's / Required Qualifications KSAs :

• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
• Ability to assist teaching faculty in the planning and implementation of lab and simulation objectives, sim activities, and lab experiences.
• Attention to detail and follow through.
• Some familiarity with healthcare programs and equipment
• Possess computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Programs.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some evenings and weekend assignments to meet student lab needs.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
• Effective communication and collaboration with staff and stakeholders

Required Qualification :

• Experience in Laboratory Management
• Experience in preparing laboratory materials for college-level classes.

Additional Considerations Additional Considerations :

• Experience and familiarity with basic software programs, including Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and safety standards.
• Experience combined with industry recognized credentials RN, LPN, Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant, etc.
• Previous experience preferably within healthcare or nursing education programs.
