NR Consulting is seeking a highly motivated Controls Engineer for an onsite opportunity in Decatur, IL – Onsite

Location : Decatur, IL – Onsite

Anticipated Start Date : 11 / 10 / 2025. This is a target date and subject to change. NR Consulting will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.

Salary Range : $80k - $120k / annum plus benefits

Job Description : We're seeking a Robotics Automation Controls Engineer to lead the design, programming, and implementation of advanced robotic and automation systems. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge technologies, drive process improvements, and support the next generation of intelligent manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for the design, programming, and deployment of robotic automation systems.
• Develop, debug, and optimize control logic for robotics and automation equipment.
• Provide engineering input for instrumentation, safety controls, and HMI enhancements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, maintenance, and IT teams to deliver reliable and efficient automation solutions.
• Ensure all systems and processes comply with company and industry standards.
• Champion innovation by integrating emerging technologies into existing production systems.
• Robotics Expertise : Proven experience with Fanuc Robotics — programming, design, and system integration.
• Automation & Controls : Strong understanding of industrial automation systems to enhance productivity and reliability.
• Analytical Problem-Solving : Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
• Team Collaboration : Effective communicator and contributor across multidisciplinary teams.
