Job Description - Procurement & Contracting Specialist
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform a wide range of professional procurement and contracting duties in alignment with public agency purchasing practices and policies.
- Support procurement goals by processing requisitions, purchase orders, contract amendments, and related documentation.
- Conduct solicitation processes (e.g., IFBs, RFPs, RFQs) using automated procurement systems.
- Manage complex procurements, including those related to capital improvement projects and federally or state-funded programs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements.
- Administer and monitor contracts through the financial management system.
- Track, review, and maintain documentation to support procurement transparency and accountability.
- Provide procurement guidance and technical support to departments to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and work independently to meet project deadlines and procurement needs.
- Monitor Citywide purchasing activity to ensure adherence to established procedures and best practices.
- Utilize cooperative purchasing opportunities where appropriate to streamline acquisition processes.
- MUNIS system experience is helpful (not required).
