About the Team

The

Sr. Director, AI / ML Platform Intelligence

will lead a product team across the Machine Learning and Generative AI platforms at Capital One. They will be responsible for core platform services for the AI / ML platform that powers mission-critical applications. This leader will partner with technology, risk, security, and business teams to monitor platform performance, identify issues, and support resilience.

We are seeking a technical product leader with a proven history of building products and experiences for data scientists and software developers. The candidate should have familiarity with emerging infrastructure and tooling for AI / ML application developers and may have prior experience as a software engineer or data scientist with several years as a technical Product Manager and leader of product management teams.

This leader will set the strategy and priorities grounded in technical understanding and user experience, aiming to improve developer experience and demonstrate measurable benefits of more powerful, faster capabilities for data scientists and engineers.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

At least 9 years of experience working in Product Management

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, one of the following with an expected degree by start date :

A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or related)

A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or related) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer-facing digital products

5+ years of experience in people leadership

3+ years of experience in innovative technology environments that embrace public cloud and open source technologies

3+ years of experience building business-critical AI and Machine Learning products

Experience with AI / ML technologies such as Kubernetes, Observability, Security, AI / ML Experiment Management, or Model Monitoring

Experience in Gen AI Application Evaluation, MLOps, or AIOps

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries reflect the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours worked.

Chicago, IL : $240,300 - $274,300

McLean, VA : $264,300 - $301,700

New York, NY : $288,400 - $329,100

San Francisco, CA : $288,400 - $329,100

Candidates hired to work in other locations will follow the pay range for that location; the actual offer will be in the offer letter. This role is eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
