Summary
This is a full-time non-tenure track position as a clinical educator in the Graduate Practice Program, Doctor of Nursing practice (DNP) within the College of Nursing and a practice setting.
The qualified candidate is expected to support the teaching mission of the college though didactic and clinical teaching in the DNP Program for 50% effort and maintain primary care practice for 50% effort within MUSC healthcare system.
Successful candidates are expected to relocate to the Charleston, South Carolina area upon hire and will be assigned a clinical practice position and teaching position.

Job Description
Minimum Qualifications :
Earned master’s degree as a Psychiatric mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Candidates should be eligible for APRN licensure by the State of South Carolina and hold national certification as a PMHNP with at least two years of APRN experience.
In addition to demonstrated evidence of prior precepting / teaching experience and practice in specialty, the successful candidates will have effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and abilities.
Current BLS certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or the Military Training Network. Candidate who is MSN prepared must either be enrolled in a doctoral (DNP or PhD) program or begin a DNP or PhD program within the first two years of employment.
Preferred qualifications :
The preferred candidate will have an earned DNP or related field, and have demonstrated evidence of their commitment to professional scholarship.
Experience with or interest in case-based or problem-based teaching is ideal with a focus on student-centric learning. Experience in graduate online teaching methods is preferred but the motivated candidate without teaching experience who meets the educational requirements (current board certification and practice as a PMHNP) will be considered.

Responsibilities :
Educator (50% effort)
a. Facilitate an asynchronous online teaching and learning environment
b. Implement innovative on-line teaching strategies
c. Participate in on-campus DNP program learning intensives on days not in clinical setting.
d. Implement curriculum as part of a team and participate in annual curriculum review; provide leadership as part of a Faculty team and support development of new curriculum that supports contemporary trends and requirements in graduate education
e. Lead or work on faculty team(s) to develop and / or modify academic courses as necessary to ensure ongoing quality improvement and mapping of the AACN Essentials for Nursing Education
f. Assume role of Course Coordinator and other duties, as assigned
g. Maintain communication with course coordinators, faculty colleagues, and administrators, as needed
h. Attend, in person or via web-based technology, course, program, and college meetings as needed
i. Adhere to MUSC College of Nursing policies
j. Maintain proficiency as an educator and clinician
k. Supports the college’s values for an environment and culture of respect, inclusivity, equity, and belonging
Clinical Practice (50% effort)
a. Maintain professional practice in PMHNP primary care or related practice (PMHNP specialty) as assigned
b. Maintain professional PMHNP credentials and certifications
c. Adheres to clinical schedule as assigned and communicates 90 days in advance of any non-emergent changes to schedule with community partner
d. Identifies opportunities for student learning, supervises and precepts MUSC APRN students in clinical settings as assigned
e. Maintain professional collaboration with supervising physician and clinical partners
f. Adhere to MUSC standards of professional practice
g. Supports MUSC’s values for an environment and culture or respect, inclusivity, equity, and belonging in the clinical setting
