Job descriptionWork in an acute care hospital Telemetry unit with 27 beds, expanding to 37 Patient population includes CHF, NSTEMI, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, diabetes, CAD, renal and respiratory failure, and post-cath lab patients Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 4 Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts per week (1900-0730) Weekend and holiday coverage is required Floating may be required to like units and Med / Surg, including other locations within the health system Epic EMR is used in the unit; previous Epic experience preferred Tele / monitor techs on the floor until June, then monitoring will become centralized Charge nurse and house supervisor on site and non-assigned to patients RNs will care for complex telemetry patients, including those with cardiac issues and post-cath recovery No titration of drips required; set-rate diltiazem and amiodarone commonly administered Respiratory therapy manages CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment System onboarding with two unit orientation shifts provided Any clean, professional scrubs are acceptable for the unit No call or standby requirements No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed Permanent employees must have a one-year separation before traveling Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility Active ID or compact state RN license required at time of consideration Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Minimum of 2 years recent Telemetry nursing experience required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory Experience with cardiac drips, NIH stroke assessment, post-cath recovery, and chest tubes required Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips and document every 6 hours Experience with SpaceLab and Philips monitors preferred Driver’s license is required Two professional references needed (one supervisor within last 12 months; one peer or supervisor within last 3 years) High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
