Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit.

The unit has a total of 39 patient beds, comprising 23 step-down and 16 med-surg beds.

Staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, and 4 PCTs on night shift.

Patient ratios are 1 : 3-4 for step-down and 1 : 4-6 for med-surg.

The unit utilizes various equipment, including lifts, chest tubes, and cardiac drips.

Nurses will care for stable vented patients and those with tracheostomies.

The electronic medical record system used is Cerner.

Typical procedures performed include trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes.

Candidates should possess flexibility and a high level of clinical competence.

Weekends may be scheduled, requiring 6 shifts in a 6-week period.
