Senior Project Engineer

A&Z has an immediate opening for an experienced Project Engineer in our growing civil / transportation design department. The role presents the opportunity for remote / hybrid work. You will be part of our rapidly growing civil / infrastructure design department, which includes structural, MOT, civil, drainage (general infrastructure work), roadway, trails and traffic projects.

• Employment Type : Full-Time
• Location : Fort Wayne Area, Valparaiso, surrounding areas, (partial remote / Hybrid Work Options Available).
• Essential Duties / Responsibilities :
• Work with a team that has a teamwork mentality which consists of experienced designers / engineers and technicians. Prefer an experienced candidate with knowledge of plans, specifications, analyses, evaluations, bidding process, procedures, and studies & reports mainly with infrastructure related tonroadways and bridges.
• Identify and understand technical requirements of design projects and implement engineering principles to develop solutions.
• Identify, interpret, and apply appropriate design standards and codes; ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Participate in technical meetings and discussions; strategize solutions to complex or unique technical problems.
• Experience conducting meetings with clients to discuss scope of work and the ability to work on contract preparations.
• Oversee the design and construction of large projects including roads, bridges, sewerage systems, pipelines, and buildings. They prepare project plans, inspect designs, and manage budgets and resources.
• Adhere to QA / QC standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers and colleagues, including mentoring junior staff.
• Ensure projects stay profitable by the ability to manage project tasks and budgets.
• experience with engineering design software such as CSiBridge, MIDAS, PGSuper, HECRAS etc. Experience with drainage analysis and design a plus.
• Design and recommend improvements to computer-aided design (CAD) software drawings and schematics.
• Utilizing our design software Civil 3D or MicroStation.
• Superior leadership, project management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with AASHTO LRFD, AISC, ACI, and other North American design codes.
• Documenting processes and presenting project progress updates to senior managers and clients.

Qualifications

Required

Annual Salary : $90,000 - $110,000 (depending on years of experience) plus bonus program. A&Z has a competitive benefit package.
